This is the second episode of this ‘In Conversation Series’ conducted by Dr Sreenanti Banerjee. It includes a conversation with Professor Anita Ghai. Professor Ghai is an Indian academic, an activist on disability rights and a scholar of Disability Studies whose work centres around questions of sexuality, education, gender, health and reproduction. Her contribution to the field of Disability Studies has opened up several uncharted avenues within the Social Sciences in general and the Humanistic Social Sciences in particular. She was the former President of the esteemed Indian Association of Women’s Studies (IAWS). Her latest book Rethinking Disability in India is a pathbreaking achievement that, most crucially, identifies disability as a phenomenon and a function of politics. She recently retired as a professor in the School of Human Studies at Ambedkar University in the capital city of Delhi in India.
