This is the first episode of an In-Conversation Series conducted by Dr Sreenanti Banerjee. It includes a conversation with Ms Taniya Sultana Laskar. Taniya is from the northeastern state of Assam in India. She is a lawyer by profession, and her areas of legal activism include violence against women, especially domestic violence; property and land rights; and questions of inclusive citizenship in the state of Assam. She has recently co-founded an organisation called Sexuality & Gender Equality (SAGE). She is also a part of several human rights groups within India and writes regularly for different Bengali and English web portals on human rights issues.
